Generating Cash from Trash

Shyam Sunder Sharma, chairman and managing director of the Rs199 crore, Kanpur-based Ganesha Polytex Ltd (GPL), has been churning out polyester staple fibers and yarns from used PET (polyethylene terephthalate) bottles for years. The company is the largest PET waste recycler in India, with a capacity of 57,600 tones per annum (tpa), thus dislodging polymer giant Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL).     read more…
